Finished Project: Fun in the Sun Hat

Project Specs:
Pattern: Fun in the Sun Hat by Annette Petavy from Interweave Crochet Spring 2007
Yarn: Knit One Crochet Too Ty-Dy color 289, only one ball!
Hook: Size G
Size: Smaller than the pattern so it would fit Ella
Pattern Alterations: I added some shaping between the top and the sides of the hat for a smoother transition. I never did a gauge swatch and so found it necessary to add some more increases on the sides.

This is my first crochet project outside of class. I’ve been planning to make this hat for awhile now and thought it would be perfect to take on our trip this past weekend. Ella loves her new hat, so it’s a success! It was so satisfying to finish a project in such a short amount of time. And I love the Ty-Dy, so easy to work with and really soft.
