For being the softest yarn ever, this neck gaiter feels kind of scratchy around the neck. But when you touch it with your hands, it feels buttery soft. Confusing. Maybe Ella and I have sensitive necks. Or maybe it’ll feel better when the weather is colder.

I have that problem with many so-called “soft” yarns. Soft to the touch, scratchy to the neck. I’ve found that if I gently hold the ball of yarn against the skin of the neck, firm enough that you can feel the yarn, but not smashing it against your neck, you need to allow the fibers to puff up. Let it sit there for a few moments and the hidden scratchyness will come up and poke you. Don’t rub!! Just hold.
Love the gaiter! Thanks for sharing the pattern! I might have to give it a try!
