Project Specs:
Pattern: Plymouth Yarn’s Lacey Camisole #S476
Yarn: Plymouth’s Royal Bamboo in color 04, pink
Needles: US 7 & 5 birch straight needles
Size: small, though it fits me fine
Pattern Alterations: just a couple of forgotten increases/decreases on the back left side, oops

Despite my crazy busy life right now, I was able to finish this in under four weeks for the store. I did not enjoy knitting with the bamboo. It was slippery with no stretch and split terribly. But once knit up, this yarn feels so soft, has a nice drape, and feels kind of cool. It would be great for the summer. I love the 1×1 ribbed skinny straps. And I got to graft 1×1 rib together from the top and bottom, a new skill. It would have looked better with a stretchy yarn, but at least the grafting is in the back of the tank.

I don’t care for the lace pattern, but I could imagine knitting this tank again (minus the lace) in the new Valley Yarns Longmeadow. That would be a nice summer tank.

  4. Lovely work! Too bad the yarn was a pain…hopefully worth the effort in the end, though. I have been wanting to try bamboo, but will keep that in mind.
