Finished Project-Sophie
Project Specs:
Pattern: Sophie by Julie Anderson
Yarn: Cascade 220 and Hip Hop by Berroco
Needles: US 13, I think. (I need to start writing these details down.)
My Blog Links: Ready, Set, Felt
Once I added the magnetic closure, I needed to figure out a way to hide it from the outside. I found the ribbon at a local craft store. But instead of sewing it on top of the bag, I thought I’d weave it around the top. I was awfully nervous cutting into the bag.
But everything seemed to work out all right in the end. Whew! One more gift finished.

The bag looks great! I love the look of the woven ribbon.
Wow – that’s gorgeous! I really like the color combination. You are an inspiring knitter! Where do you get the time?
See you soon…
I love the bag. I just fnished a Sophie bag as well and am deciding whether or not to line and put in a closure of some sort.
that’s so nice! i love your personal touches to sophie.
your sophie bag looks fantastic! I love the addition of the ribbon. do you mind if i borrow your idea when I (eventually) make my own sophie?
Beautiful colors and carrying along the hip hop gives it a very subtle pizzazz
How clever you are! I love the addition of the ribbon and the clasp. Bravo!
I love how you’ve added the ribbon to your Sophie bag — the detail really makes the bag special.
